Problem — wood greys and loses its coating
Beams, façade boards and furniture grey over time, the varnish flakes and grime builds up. Sanding strips material and creates dust, and lye soaks the wood and raises the grain.

The laser removes a thin layer of grime and old coating without stripping healthy wood. It reveals the natural grain and prepares the surface for oil or varnish.

What we work on
We clean structural beams, roof trusses, board facades, gazebos, decking, furniture, doors and carved detail. We take off greying, deposits, soot after a fire, old varnishes, stains and woodstains, and residue from preservatives.
What this method will not do
Wood that is badly degraded biologically — rotten or eaten by insects — will be clean after treatment but still degraded. The laser removes the surface layer and shows the real condition of the material; if a beam is fit only for replacement, that will be more obvious than before.
Laser versus other methods
Against sanding: no layer of wood is taken away, so carved detail, axe marks and the original texture survive. Against caustic stripping and blasting: the fibre is not softened and the grain not washed out — the very thing that makes old timber worth keeping.
Time and how it runs
The result depends on species and age, so we always begin with a sample. Fresh pine reacts differently from hundred-year-old oak, and the same power that cleans a ceiling beam nicely would already be too much intervention on a thin facade board.
